Folio, early calf stamped in gilt and blind with vellum pastedown spine label, housed in custom cloth chemise and matching calf-backed slipcase, with two printer's devices on colophon and title page, engraved head-piece and initial. First edition of the twelve books of the Byzantine physician, Alexander, with text printed in Greek and preface in Latin. Ex-libris stamp trimmed to title page; some very light foxing along fore edge; outer hinges cracked slightly; some staining to boards and professional repair to spine ends; otherwise near fine.
