16mo, publisher's boards, spine perished but text block sturdy, unpaginated, A-I16. Ownership inscriptions from the Foott family (Mary, Elisbeth and James), dated 1770 (Elisbeth), and another dated 1829, to the preliminary blanks and endpapers.

The first American edition of this rare thumb bible was published in 1763 and is considered the first miniature book printed in America. All 18th-century American thumb bibles are scarce, with only a handful appearing at auction in the last half century. Adomeit A155; Bristol B2975; Shipton & Mooney 42009; Welch 1293.4
