[Tipped in:] Autographed letter signed ("N. Matson"), 2 pp., Princeton, January 19, 1878. To William Hickling (full transcription available). Matson discusses his motivations for the work, having been personally acquainted with Shaubena, and how he obtained the facts for his story. He thanks Hickling for an historical report provided.
