A Hammond B3 Organ with Two Leslie Speakers
serial number c140374, model b-3
including a bench, a foot pedal base and cables.

Estimate $ 7,000-9,000

Originally manufactured in 1935, the Hammond Organ quickly became popular with jazz musicians and had widespread interest in the 1960s and 1970s with rock musicians. The accompanying Leslie Speakers are commonly associated with the Hammond Organ. Not only do they work to amplify the sound but the rotating loudspeaker alters it, creating a sound that is unique to the Hammond Organ and Leslie Speakers.

This organ was used by nearly every artist who wrote or recorded at Caribou Ranch studio. Chicago albums VI and up used this Hammond Organ, as did Joe Walsh and Earth, Wind & Fire. Specifically, this organ can be heard on Stephen Stills' 1973 Isn't it About Time, the 1974 album Stills, and Rod Stewart's 1976 Tonight's the Night.

One key, F before middle C white cracked, appears to have been glued.
Second key, F sharp, black key appears to have glue from previous key
attaching it to white key. All draw bars work, heel rest detached, front mounted on/off control is missing, on/off control by foot.

Organ has not been played since 1985.

Larger Leslie: serial # H17911 Mod 122RV
Smaller Leslie: serial # H24782 Mod 145
