Provenance:
By repute, the table left France from Chateau de Fortoiseau (used by the Germans for ammunition storage; destroyed in 1944) with the family of Raymond Tartiere, who settled in Middleburg, Virginia. President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy leased the Middleburg home from the Tartiere family from 1960-1962; the table is mentioned as appearnig in the President's bedroom in a 1961 inventory of the home.


Sturdy and attractive with highly polished patina. Age cracks and minor veneer repairs consistent with age. Discolorations and water spots in a few areas. Metal mounts with dull patina. Additional photos available upon request.
