An Empire Gilt Bronze and Marble Mantel Clock
circa 1820
cast to show a seated maiden reading a book below an oil lamp, the circular enameled dial with Roman numeral hours and Arabic numeral minutes, raised on a rectangular plinth base ending in toupie feet.
Height 12 1/2 x width 11 1/2 x depth 5 1/2 inches.

Bronze elements with a dirty, uneven patina. Likely lacking an bronze element near back chair leg. Repaired crack to one side of marble base. Works appear intact. takes a wind and runs but bell does not strike. Two keys.
